Yusei's card of the Day 31.1.2012 - Malefic Cyber End Dragon
Today's card was suggested by our member Blue-Eyes, who suggested Malefic (Sin) monsters. Thanks!
Sin monsters were first introduced in YGO movie Bonds beyond Time and Space, where Paradox used them. Then, they were released in TCG in Movie pack. If used right strategy, Sins can be quite formidable deck.
Malefic Cyber End Dragon (Sin Cyber End Dragon)
This card is evil and corrupted version of Cyber End Dragon, but with lot easier summoning. Sin version kept its ATK, but lacks its piercing attack ability. So today we will take a look at Malefic (Sin) deck strategies.
Summoning
Sin Cyber End can, like almost all Sin monsters, be easily summoned from hand by banishing original Cyber End Dragon from your Extra deck. This makes its summoning very easy and is very likely to bring out this 4000-ATK brute in very first turn. Thats what I call nice start. But keep in mind that Sin monster is automatically destroyed when there is no Field spells (remember Earthbound Gods?) so always run 3 Sin Worlds, 2-3 Terraformings and 3 Field Barriers. That will keep Sin World safe.
Abilities
Brutal ATK of Sin monsters would be nice compensation for their drawbacks - Field spell requiement and restriction of 1 Sin monster on the field at time. But, this can be turned into advantage by two ways:
1st way: Skill Drain strategy. This uses Skill Drain to negate effects of Sin monsters, thus erasing their drawbacks so there can be more than one Sin monster on the field at once. Because most of them have brutal ATK, this can create very effective combo. And little bonus - effecct of all opponent's monsters will be negated. But there is one disadvantage: Skill Drain negates helpful effects of Sin Paradox Dragon, Sin Truth Dragon and Sin Stardust Dragon. So I recommend 2nd way:
2nd way: Kaiser colloseum. This will leave you with only one Sin monster at once, but doesn't allow opponent to Summon more monsters than you have - 1. So if you have only one monster, opponent can have only one too. This will absolutely stop Synchro and Exceed summoning and is very hard to escape it. Combine with Royal Decree to avoid nasty Traps. So only way to avoid this threat are Spells and effects of monsters that can work on their own (Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter). And if your Sin monster gets destroyed, you can then summon Sin Truth Dragon for total hell.
Stats
4000 ATK for easily summonable monster without losing card advantage. Great. Just great. And most Sin monsters have sky-high ATK - lowest ATK for Sin monster is 2400 for Sin Red Eyes Black Dragon. And if you unleash true power of Sins and manage to summon Sin Truth Dragon, it is most likely the end.
Summary
Playablity: 8/10
Stats: 10/10
Artwork: 7/10
Sin deck is not hard to get and can be fatal to any opponent. You have two ways how to play this deck to choose from - Skill Drain or Kaiser Colloseum - so try what suits you best and unleash the dark force of SIN deck...
