Yusei's Card of the Day 3.2.2012 - Junk Archer
I think all of you know Yusei's deck - monsters that looks like pieces of scrap, but with huge potential within. There are many of Yusei's Synchro monsters, but I chose Junk Archer, because he can be very helpful even today. I will explain why.
There is series of Synchro monsters that requies Junk Synchron as Tuner monster: Junk Warrior, Destroyer, Guardna, Berserker and Archer. They vary in Levels and abilities. I hope I can make all of them as CotD in future, but today it shall be Junk Archer.
Junk Archer requies Junk Synchron as Tuner monster. Other monster shall be level 4. Easier way is Summon Junk Synchron and Special summon Junk Servant for instant Synchro summon. Or it can be 3+2+2 - Summon Junk Synchron, revive level 2 monster, revive Quillbolt Hedhehog via its effect and Synchro for Junk Archer. If you know Yusei deck well, you know there are endless ways how to Synchro summon.
Junk Archer can once per turn banish 1 monster on opponent's field and then return it back at the end of turn. Remember when I said he can be used even if today's era? Because of Exceeds. When you banish them, they will lose all of their Overlay units - much similar to Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. This can turn Exceeds into ordinary monsters with average ATK, with negative effect in few cases. But Archer's effect can be used even outside Exceeds. Monsters with modified ATK (Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, Montage Dragon) will return its power to original value, and can re-set ATK of Fortune Ladies. But, for God's sake, DON'T use this effect aganist cards like Beast King Barbados that has been Summoned with lowered ATK, since they will return stronger than they was. This can be also used to temportarily overcome effect of Stardust Dragon, since he can be banished normally ( :( ). Send Stardust to little trip between dimensions and activate destruction cards normally. If your opponent has only one monster on the field, you can banish it for opporunity to direct attack. This works very well if you have more monsters with high ATK. Summon Junk Destroyer or Heavy Storm to get rid of nasty Traps that can ruin this wonderful tactics.
2300 is average, but it can be combo'd well with ability to dismiss one monster for the rest of the turn. It can be boosted with Warrior support cards (don't mess him as he is Machine, Limiter Removal won't work, but The A.Forces will). If you really need to protect him (playing aganist Exceed deck), Safe Zone is good choice. But Archer is not primary designed for combat, just use his ability and let battle stronger monsters like Junk Beserker or Junk Destroyer.
Yusei decks can rule even nowadays with new Junk support in Extreme Victory. It's not hard to get and it's competitive, so why not? I know, it's only anime, but Yusei never lost with it :)
