Yusei's Card of the Week - Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
OK, guys, Card of the Day is too much to handle, but I will try to make card of the WEEK. 1 featured card per week, most likely on weekends or mondays. It will be much easier to handle and I can keep my input to this site (I have small debt to our admin, not telling more). So we'll start with key card of my favorite zeXal character, which saved his butt several times. In other words, war machine brutally punishing anyone who dares to use Exceeds aganist him. Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon.
This card debuted in recently released
Galactic Overlord and gave Photon deck some more direction, but two main cards that are best for summoning him in this deck are yet to be released. We'll examine strategy needed to use this true
Galactic Overlord a little closer.
Summoning
Today we'll suppose that we're using Photons - no Hieratics, because summoning Rank 8 in this deck is for another chapter (I promise I will review that Hieratic Rank 8 killer
dragon someday). To summon NGEPD in Photons, main cards are:
* Photon Kaiser
There are two main ways to summon.
1) Summon Galaxy-Eyes, 2 more
monsters, use Galaxy Queen's
Light and Overlay. Original Galaxy-Eyes can be easily summoned with
Photon Sanctuary, and 2 other
monsters can be easily spammed on the
field using
Photon Lead (2
Daybreakers are ideal), CotH or other Special summoning cards. Galaxy-Eyes can be replaced with Photon Kaiser (which also brings out 2nd material), but this way Neo Galaxy Eyes loses its negating
effect. Then simply use Galaxy Queen's
Light (coming out in REDU), change levels of all your
monsters to 8 and overlay.
2) Summon Galaxy-Eyes, then Photon Kaiser, which brings out 3rd material, and Overlay. This way is a bit harder, because in most cases it consumes 2 Photon Sanctuaries. One for Specail summoning Galaxy-Eyes, one for tributes for Kaiser (coming out in REDU). But summoned Kaiser summons 2nd one from hand or deck = you have all needed materials.
Abilities
Congratulations, you have this big bawz out. Let's unleash the destruction. If you used original Galaxy-Eyes it will negate
effects of all other face-up cards. Stardust, Brionac, "cannot be destroyed" cards - no problem anymore. It also negates face-up
Spells and
Traps, but is useless aganist Set cards. This can stop annoying
Royal Decree, as wel
Valhalla, Hall of the Fallen or nasty
Field spells. Sweet. But that's not the best part - opponent will regret thousand times he/she used Exceed aganist you. Neo Galaxy-Eyes eats material, removes ALL materials from ALL opponent's Exceeds, increases ATK by 500 for each and gets 1 attack this turn for each material vanished. If your opponent has more than one Exceed, this is most likely GG. And even with mere Utopia, it will have 5500 ATK and can attack two times - no good for opponent. And ATK gain is permanent, so you can boost Galaxy-Eyes as long opponent is stupid enough for Overlaying again.
Stats
4500 ATK - what else to say? Maybe use
Honest for boosting his multiple-attacking ability to higher level.
Luminous Spark is also reccomended for 5,000 ATK - like a boss.
Summary
4500-ATK giant which can unleash total madness in today's Exceed era. What else to say?
