Rulings for Light End DragonYu-gi-oh! Card

REVISED TEXT:
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT monsters
When this monster battles, you can activate this card's effect at attack declaration. If you do, this card loses 500 ATK and
DEF (permanently), and the monster it is battling loses 1500 ATK and DEF until the End Phase.
The effect of "Light End Dragon" does not target.
You cannot activate "Light End Dragon's" effect when it attacks a face-down monster.
You cannot activate the effect of "Light End Dragon" or "Dark End Dragon" if their ATK or DEF are less than 500.
When you attack a monster with less than 1500 ATK and DEF, you can activate "Light End Dragon's" effect. You cannot
activate the effect if the attack target's ATK and DEF are both already 0.
If you attack with "Light End Dragon" and activate its effect, and your opponent chains a card that will negate the attack,
like "Magic Cylinder," the effect of "Light End Dragon" is still applied. So "Light End Dragon" loses 500 ATK & DEF, and
the attack target still loses 1500 ATK & DEF until the End Phase.
If "Skill Drain" is activated, the ATK and DEF of "Light End Dragon" and "Dark End Dragon" will be restored to their original
values. If "Skill Drain" is destroyed, they will still remain at those original values until lowered again.
If "Light End Dragon" or "Dark End Dragon" activate their effects, but an effect like "Shrink" is chained, so that when the
effect resolves, they have less than 500 ATK or DEF, you cannot reduce their ATK and DEF by 500 to resolve the effect,
so the effect is not applied.
If "Light End Dragon" or "Dark End Dragon" activate their effects, but an effect is chained that causes the opponent's
monster to leave the field, "Light End Dragon" / "Dark End Dragon" still lose 500 ATK and DEF.
You can use monsters with multiple Attributes, like "Sphere of Chaos," to Synchro Summon "Light End Dragon" or "Dark
End Dragon."

Play tips for this YuGiOh Card

  • This card can easily be Synchro Summoned in a Disaster Dragon Deck. Just tune Dread Dragon (a Level 2 tuner) along with a Prime Material Dragon or a Genesis Dragon (since the two are LIGHT non-tuners). You can also tune Delta Flyer with Mirage Dragon.
  • This card can be revived from the Graveyard with the effect of Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.
  • This card can easily become vulnerable. This makes it an excellent candidate for Silver Wing.
  • This card can be easily Summoned with Chaos-End Master and Sphere of Chaos.
  • This card can work exceptionally well in Lightsworn Decks since the majority of monsters in the deck are Light Attribute. Also, if you use Lightwave Tuning on a level 4 "Lightsworn" and manage to Special Summon "Wulf" by it's effect or use "Lumina" to summon another "Lightsworn", you've got the perfect monsters not only to tune for "Light End Dragon", but also for preparing for "Judgment Dragon's" appearance.
    • Similarly, with the release of Batteryman AAA, "Batteryman" Decks can use this card as well. Normal summon "Batteryman AAA", if running two copies you automatically get a second on the field, then use Lightwave Tuning on one and synchro. You'd then also have extra "Batteryman" in your grave to remove for Batteryman Industrial Strength instead of removing more useful "Batteryman".
  • Protect this card using Fortune Slip or Interdimensional Matter Transporter. When it's re-summoned, it will regain it's ATK & DEF.
  • Forbidden Chalice makes the ATK of this card 3000, no matter how many times its effect was used. After that, its ATK is 3000, resetting this card's effect for more use. For a good result, use Forbidden Chalice during the Damage Step after Light End Dragon's" effect has been used to max (generally this will be four times). This disruptive strategy will result in an unexpected (for your opponent) 2400 ATK increase for the turn.
  • Use Reverse Trap on your weak "Light End Dragon" to give it a massive power boost for one turn.
  • Use Level Warrior and a Level 4 Tuner or Cyber Dragon and a Level 3 Tuner to Summon this card.
  • Use Book of Moon, Dimensionhole, Book of Eclipse or Forbidden Chalice to reset "Light End Dragon's" ATK and DEF.
  • When this card's ATK is too low, tribute it for Advance Draw.
  • This monster can be summoned with any type of deck or monsters by including Scroll of Bewitchment, which will allow you to change the attribute of the equiped monster to any other attribute (in this case LIGHT) due to the fact that only the non-Tuner monster(s) need to be LIGHT in order to summon this particular card.
  • You can use Tsukuyomi's" effect to Flip Light End Dragon into face-down Defense Position and Flip it face-up again to reset its ATK and DEF points.
