When a player Special Summons "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames" and activates its effect to destroy a Set Spell or Trap Card, no Spell or Trap card can be chained, including "Bottomless Trap Hole", "Torrential Tribute", or "Divine Wrath".
You can send "Embodiment of Apophis" to the Graveyard even while it is a monster, because it is still a Continuous Trap Card.
The effect of "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames" that increases his ATK is a Continuous Effect. His effect that destroys Spell & Trap Cards is an Ignition Effect.
If you control "Rivalry of Warlords" and 2 other face-up Trap Cards, and you control a non-Pyro monster, you cannot send the 3 face-up Trap Cards to the Graveyard to Summon "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames" because "Rivalry of Warlords" prevents you from Summoning monsters of different Types.

- You can use Trap Monsters to defend your Life Points as Tributes for "Uria".
- Uria, Lord of Searing Flames works well in a Volcanic deck, if you load it with fire-type support cards, such as Backfire, Firewall, and Gravity Bind. Also, "Uria" can be removed from play to activate Firewall's effect if it is already in the Graveyard.
- Since Uria's effect to destroy Set cards can be used as soon as it is summoned, you do not have to worry about cards like Bottomless Trap Hole because no card can be chained to its effect.

- Pyramid of Light is a Continuous Trap Card so it can be removed from the field to play "Uria". If you are running a deck with "Uria", a unique move would be to include Pyramid of Light along with the Sphinxes. Removing "Pyramid of Light", while Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia are on the field, to play "Uria" will allow you to play Theinen the Great Sphinx. If you have a card that can clear your opponent's monsters off of the field such as Lightning Vortex, you can accomplish at least 6500 damage with direct attacks. You could additionally pay 500 Life Points for "Theinin's" effect or have at least five Continuous Trap Cards in your Graveyard, provided your opponent can't counter your attacks with a Spell or Trap card or a card in their hand. Keep in mind that you can destroy a face-down Spell or Trap with "Uria's" effect to lessen the chance of them countering anything.
- "Uria" is compairable to Obelisk the Tormentor, Xing Zhen Hu Replica, and Super Polymerization in that it cannot be chained to, but be warned. This card does NOT prevent all cards from being chained to it. It is a common fallacy that this card prevents everything. Unlike the cards listed before, this card allows Monster Effects, such as Stardust Dragon, to be chained and from there (chaining to the monster's effect), more effects like Spell and Trap cards can be activated.
- This card can be searched via Witch of the Black Forest.

- You can summon this easy with Temple of the Kings because with it you can activate traps same turn you set them
