Play tips for this YuGiOh Card
- You can use this card with Cyberdark Dragon and when it is Destroyed you get a free Stardust Dragon (if properly Special Summoned before) since its Effect Activates when destroyed as a Spell or Trap card.
- By that same tactic, you can use Dragunity Arms - Laevatein and special summon Stardust Dragon when Laevateinn is destroyed by any means, even by battle.
- You can tribute this card to negate Yubel's" End-phase tribute effect and Special Summon Yubel - Terror Incarnate and have Stardust return instantly too.
- You can create an OTK with this card by attacking with it for 3000 damage, using Assault Slash to get rid of it for Stardust Dragon and attacking with that for 2500, then activating the trap card Assault Mode Activate for another Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode and attacking with that finishing them off.
- Ways to get rid of "Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode" include: Divine Wrath, Solemn Warning(either on Assault Mode Activate or when he tries to summon himself from the grave), Lava Golem or Volcanic Queen. Also, Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, D.D. Crow, Soul Release Book of Life or Disappear can be used while "Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode" is in the Graveyard.
- Use Hero's Rule 2 to protect this card while in the graveyard from cards like D.D. Crow, Soul Release, The Transmigration Prophecy or Pot of Benevolence or Crevice Into the Different Dimension.
- To counter removal effects while Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode is in the graveyard, use an Imperial Iron Wall card.
- Necrovalley can protect Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode, since stardust doesn't target cards it wont be affected by Necrovalley effect; Necrovalley can protect stardust in the graveyard since cards in the graveyard cannot be targeted or removed from play.
- Your opponent won't be able to use cards like Monster Reborn or any other card to special summon Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode once it's in the grave, so you won't have to worry about using its effect to negate a card then have your opponent revive it on their side.
- A great card to have on the field with this card is Imperial Iron Wall or Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer, to ensure that your opponent won't remove it from play so it can come back to the field.
- You can negate effects that activate in the hand, graveyard or even removed from play.
- You can activate the effect of this card in the Damage Step, because it is a Quick Effect, this way you can be safe from effects like Honest's or Gorz the Emissary of Darkness' and feel free to attack.
- Use Arcane Apprentice and Destiny Hero - Malicious to summon Stardust Dragon. This will also let you add Assault Mode Activate to your hand so you can summon this card on your next turn.
- Since Assault Mode Activate is hard to use because it summons one /Assault Mode card from your Deck, you can use cards like Pot of Generosity or Pot of Avarice to get Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode back in your deck. Assault Teleport is best for this purpose. You can use Hand Destruction to get Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode in the graveyard, then use Pot of Avarice to get him back in your deck, plus getting to draw another two cards, maybe getting you an Assault Mode Activate. Another good card is Good Goblin Housekeeping, as it helps you return an Assault Mode to the Deck without fear of drawing it again.
- If you find that you have drawn this card, a good strategy to get rid of it is to summon a Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier and use this card as the discard cost for its effect. Later on you can use Pot of Avarice to recycle it into your deck and draw two cards.
- Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode is unaffected by Skill Drain because tributing Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode is a cost and cannot be negated, and its reviving effect activates in the graveyard.
- If you have this card on your field when you clear the field, with a card like Black Rose Dragon, you'll both clear the field and attack your opponent's life points directly with the non-/Assault mode version of this card.
- This card can get rid of entire field of Lightsworns and/or Judgment Dragon by negating their discarding top deck cards at the end phase, each time you negate since it is already the end phase you can bring this card back with it's own effect to negate another.
- Use Plaguespreader Zombie to return Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode from your hand to the top of your deck to use it with Assault Mode Activate.
- The deck where this card fits best is probably in a Dragunity deck, as it can summon Stardust Dragon fast and with few resources, and the field spell Dragon Canyon is very useful in dumping extra "/Assault" cards when the monster is already summoned.
- This card's effect can protect your Synchro Monsters from the Meklord Emperors.
